Asphalt Overdrive – Tips, Cheats and Strategy Guide

Asphalt Overdrive is Gameloft’s new spinoff of the Asphalt Series, bringing the series into endless runner territory for the first time. This game gives you plenty of mission based runs, a 1980s Miami vibe reminiscent of GTA Vice City, and all kinds of missions involving running from the cops and accomplishing a whole host of other tasks. Read on for some tips and tricks for Asphalt Overdrive!

As you make it past the first few stages, the game goes from easy to hard rather quickly. Upgrades are the key to keeping pace with the stages, so use the bills that you earn to purchase enough upgrades to stay ahead of the cops. If you are stuck on a stage, go back to old stages and play them again, regardless of if you already earned three stars on them or not, in order to earn more coins.

Sometimes, though, it’s better to save your bills and instead purchase a better car instead of upgrades for the current car. For example, when you are in tier 1, save up for a GMC K10 truck, as it has twice the power of any of the three cars that you start with. Always keep an eye on prices especially as the upgrade prices continue to rise.

Always join the event leagues, because they can earn you some of the best gold and bills rewards. As soon as one event ends, join up with another one again. Plus the more leagues you participate in, the move you’ll move up and unlock more and more difficult leagues.

Join a gang for numerous benefits. Not only will you get to do gang-specific events and missions, but you’ll have your energy restored more quickly after you lose it. You can always leave a gang whenever you want and join another one, or try to form your own gang.

Use boosts for especially tough stages, like the full nitro, which gives you an instantly-available speed boost. Otherwise, collect the blue nitro bottles in the stage itself to build up your nitro meter, and when it’s full and pink, double tap the screen to use it. Other boosts include invincibility for five seconds on use, or the combo extender, which gives you more time to keep a combo going.

Three stars can be attained anywhere by scoring points any way possible. Sideswipe everyone that you pass in order to keep a combo going and score maximum points. With every jump that you go off, swipe left or right to execute a barrel roll.
