Battle Copters is a new helicopter dogfighting game for mobile platforms by EA Chillingo. The premise of this game is simple: shoot at other helicopters and try to kill as many of them as possible, while avoiding getting killed. You can buy all kinds of upgrades for your chopper, then use them to kill more efficiently and do even more damage. Read on for some tips and tricks for Battle Copters!
There are two different awards that you can possibly get in a round: the Ace award and the MVP award. Ace is awarded to whoever has the most kills in a match. The easiest way to get ace is to look for the various bot helicopters and start shooting at them. They have very, very low armor, so often if you target them with the machine guns, you won’t even have time to lock a missile on before you kill them. That’s how weak they are.
MVP award is given to whoever does the most damage overall in a round, so even if you get a ton of kills stolen from you, you still earn extra silver for what you do damagewise in a round. Find the nearest player or bot and start shooting at them. The higher level your guns and missiles are, the easier it is to earn this award.
Always be on the move. You don’t want to get too close to your targets or to other players who are targeting you, because that’s a quick way to get killed with guns. Strafe from side to side and change your elevation often as well, not only to throw off your enemies’ guns, but to break their attempts to lock onto you with their missiles too. Move even while you are firing and trying to kill enemies.
Upgrades start off cheap and get more expensive as you go, and if your upgrade takes less than five minutes to complete, it’s free to finish it. Otherwise, it costs gold to finish your upgrade. Engine upgrades improve forward and reverse speed. Rotor upgrades improve elevation changes and wing upgrades improve your turning. Gun and missile upgrades are self-explanatory.

Upgrade everything to the same level, so that you are spending as little and getting as much out of it as possible. When you do enough upgrades, you’ll be able to add something to your helicopter, such as (early in the game) a second set of missiles, so keep upgrading as often as possible. Once you can’t finish for free anymore, play again while you are waiting for your upgrades to finish.
