Your goal is to run through the streets of the city, kicking the ball at targets and avoiding defenders, cars and other obstacles. Focus on going as long of a distance as possible above all else, and then the coin collecting will fall into place. However, the coin positioning makes this easy. All that you have to do is follow the coins and you will typically steer clear of obstacles, because obstacles cannot go through coins. Then your biggest worry is simply the defenders because they can go in any random direction.
Kick the ball into as many consecutive targets as possible, because for each ten targets in a row that you hit, you get a coin multiplier. Kick 20 in a row for a 3x multiplier, kick 30 in a row for a 4x multiplier, and so on and so forth. Every ten targets gets you a multiplier upgrade.
Also, when you see letters around, be sure to collect them. These are part of the daily challenge, which will earn you free coins or a spin at the Penalty Shootout minigame once you complete the word. After you complete one day’s challenge, wait until the next day and a new challenge will pop up with its own rewards added to it.
New outfits can be purchased in the store, and while they will not add any bonuses to your Cristiano Ronaldo, they can change his appearance. Some of them are cheap to purchase, while others are hideously expensive. You can also spend tickets (the premium currency of the game) in order to purchase more coins. Tickets can be found throughout levels and earned as bonuses, or purchased from the in-app purchase store.

The most useful thing that you can purchase with your coins is upgrades and boosts, which can be found in the store. Upgrades give a permanent affect to the power-ups that you find throughout the level, such as the Star Striker (the ball that turns you into a huge ball and sends you into the sky) and the magnet, which draws coins to you. The boost purchase can give you goal boosts and start boosts. Start boosts give you a free Star Striker, while goal boosts increase your goal multiplier for one run.
