Dark Avenger is a brand new beat-em-up by Gamevil and Boolean for the iPhone, iPad (and other iOS devices) as well as for Android devices. This game should strongly appeal to fans of the Gauntlet series and of old beat-em-ups for 8 bit, 16 bit and 32 bit systems. in Dark Avenger, you play as either the Templar or the Ranger, and your goal is to run from room to room in towers, clearing all of the rooms of the massive swarms of enemies that have taken over. Read on for some tips and tricks for Dark Avenger!

Right from the beginning, your character will find a large amount of items dropped either by enemies or by the treasure chests that are scattered throughout the game. Go back to the menu screen and equip all of the most powerful ones, and then sell all of the rest for extra gold coins so that you can buy even better weapons and armor later on.

Weapoons should be your absolute first priority in Dark Avenger, though, because they GREATLY speed up how quickly you can beat a stage. Also, the game tells you that you have to hit the attack button over and over to execute attack combos. You can do the combos, though, simply by holding the attack button. Your character will automatically attack over and over. All you have to do is use the joystick to direct their attacks.

Running after enemies and mashing the attack button over and over works for awhile, but in cases where it doesn’t work, you have to go for guerrilla warfare. Hit and run, and then run around in circles letting them try to get to you. Use special attacks as your hits, such as the tornado and the dash, and then when the special attacks run out, run off again.

This is a slower way to win, but this is a much more surefire way to win since enemies can’t attack you when you’re far away. Alternatively, if you are playing as the ranger, simply stay as far away as possible and keep running and shooting. Save your healing potions for the really tough battles – don’t waste them.
