Despicable Me: Minion Rush is a new endless runner that comes out right around the same time that Despicable Me 2 is about to be released in theaters. There are two types of currency in Despicable Me: Minion Rush. Bananas are the main form of currency and are earned mostly through the runs. Tokens are the premium currency, which means that they are difficult to come by. Read on to find out how to get more of both, for free!
Getting free bananas is, obviously, rather easy, since all that you have to do is run and collect bananas. However, you can maximize the amount of bananas that you get. There are three main ways to do this. Unlock the banana splitter and upgrade it, because when you pick up the banana splitter, you get 2 bananas for every banana that you pick up.
Unlock the banana vacuum, because then you pick up every banana that you pass by, whether you’re aiming for them or not. Unlock the fluffy unicorn game, because in the fluffy unicorn minigame you can collect loads of bananas. The more you upgrade it, the more bananas that you can collect.
In addition, simply go as far as you can in the main runs, because the farther you go, the more bananas you’ll end up collecting on the way, especially because following the trail of bananas ensures that you will be on a safe route.
Complete the weekly contest goals in order to earn free bananas. The goals differ depending on the week – for example, one week it will be to collect as many bananas as you can in one run, and another week, the highest multiplier that you can get. Depending on the week, the better you do, the more bananas you will earn.
There are two known ways to get free tokens in Despicable Me: Minion Rush. One of them is to watch videos for tokens. To do this go to the shop area, and go to the tokens logo (the big G). Then click on the free tokens icon in the bottom right corner, and you can watch videos for 1 tokens apiece. Just keep playing videos and racking up tokens until you have as many as you need.
You’ll also find tokens sitting in the stages sometimes. Collect them when you do, obviously, because they do not show up very often.

Also, compete in the weekly contests. There are three different leaderboard prizes, which change depending on the week. The top leaderboard prize (usually being in the top 10) will be worth a massive amount of tokens, while the second and third will be worth considerably less, but still a high amount.
