One of the most important things that trips up a lot of players is the speed limit. The speed limit is 30 MPH, regardless of what the signs say – and sometimes, in the case of Los Angeles, the signs will say something VERY different, such as 55 MPH. You have to ignore the sign and go the speed limit. Leave sport mode off most of the time as it makes it tougher to stay under the limit.

Of course, if you want to drive around and speed a ton, leave the career mode behind and go to the free ride mode. In free ride mode, there are no rules, and you can drive around however fast you want to, crashing into whatever and whoever you want with no exp penalty. This is about the only place that you can have fun with super fast cars.

Want to get more gold coins? These are the premium currency of the game, and the main way to get them is to buy them; however, you can watch advertisement videos for 10 coins each by tapping on the gift box. You can also get free coins by interacting on Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, but you can only do each of those once. The video can be done as many times as you want until you have enough coins for a sweet car.

When you’re in the career mode, look for the red and white striped course on the map. If you lose the course, you can still complete the round by getting back on course. In fact, if you know the map well enough, you can go rogue and rack up the experience points by driving around and following stop signs and stop lights for awhile, then go back to the main route and finish the level to bank the exp.

Running out of gas is a real danger there, though, especially if you are driving a gas guzzler. If you’re running out of gas, look around for a gas station; you’ll be able to recognize them by the big red floating gas symbol over the ground. You’ll be able to fuel up by parking the car and stopping the engine (tap the key button). Once you’re filled up you’ll be able to take off again.
