Until you get new primary weapons, your main goal will be to avoid boss attacks while leading them into the bombs that you plant. Keep in mind also that you can use the flamethrower to blow up bombs before their time limit is up, allowing you to time your attacks with more accuracy.

Your primary weapons will always have unlimited ammunition, but your secondary weapons will be limited. Don’t turn a weapon on and then forget to shut it off and blow out all of your ammo in one shot. Turn the weapon off after your attack has been made or after the bomb is blown up, and save the rest of the ammunition for later.

Every boss has a different tell that indicates when they are about to attack, so use that tell to know when to get out of the way and when to prepare an attack. Let off of the screen to do a time warp so that you can slow everything down and see the tells more clearly.

Use different weapons and helmets for different boss battles. Certain weapons will have better degrees of effectiveness in the way that they work, and helmets have specific associated boosts, so switch helmets to give yourself a better edge in a tough boss battle.

Complete missions in order to earn more coins. Also, when you earn cartridges, you will unlock new minigames in the arcade. Play the minigames to earn coins so that you can purchase more weapons. Additionally, when you knock screws and other metal pieces out of an opponent, pick them up. You can sell them later in the store in order to earn even more coins for new weapons.
