One of the most immediate ways to load up on coins is to connect to Facebook from the game. You will be prompted to connect as soon as you download and run the game, but even if you do not do it right away you can still connect at any time and earn the rewards. Once you connect the game to Facebook, you will earn 1,000 free coins.
Coins are earned as a bonus for completing a level, with 50 being the base amount. Finish a level with moves left over and you will earn bonus coins on top of what you earn as a bonus for completing the level. The more moves you have left over at the end, the more coins that you will earn; you can watch the coins racking up as the moves turn random pieces into bombs and blow them up.
You are given various tasks to do which you need stars to complete, and each complete task adds to the completion bar in the task menu. Once you complete all tasks in a particular area, the bar will fill to 100%. Once the bar is fully completed, you will earn a massive bonus which consists of coins – sometimes even over 1,000 coins.
Making smart use of your coins is just as important as trying to earn more coins. For example, the biggest money pit in the entire game is spending coins in order to get 5 extra moves when you run out. It costs 500 coins to buy the first five, then after that if you still have not won, then it costs an extra 900 coins. The better idea is simply to take the loss and move on. If you lose multiple times at a particular stage, then consider spending the coins for extra moves.
Stars are earned each time that you complete a level without running out of moves. You cannot earn more stars per level by playing better – you earn one star if you win and zero stars if you lose. If you win with more moves left over, though, you earn more coins, not stars. Some tasks will require more than one star to complete, so you will end up having to play more than one level in order to earn all of the stars that you need.
