If you want to set distance records, collect a whole lot of gems and coins, and then buy the upgrade that decreases the price of the “Save me” when you die. Normally, the “Save Me” costs 1 gem, the second one costs 2 gems, the next one 4 gems, and the next one costs 8 gems, and so on and so forth. But each time that you upgrade the Save Me power up, you decrease the price by 1 gem (minimum price 1 gem) so with three upgrades, for example, the first three will cost 1 gem apiece, and the fourth one will cost only 5 gems.

Maximize your coins as well by increasing the coin magnet power up’s duration, and by increasing the frequency of pickup spawns. Combine both of these and you’ll be raking in the coins especially after 1,000 meters if you have at least a level 2 coin value multiplier power up. In addition, complete each one of the missions as quickly as you can, so that you can gain levels quickly, because each level gained nets you a huge coin bonus, and the higher the level, the higher the coin bonus.

While each one of the characters that you buy doesn’t give you a performance boost in general, they do unlock new power ups that you can buy using gems. Go to the character select menu and tap on the “power ups” button to find out what they are. Get Barry Bones for the “coin boost” power up, which is one of the best ones as far as actual power up performance goes.

After that, get to level 10 and you will be able to engage the gem bonus, which instantly gives you 2 gems, but which only costs 1 gem to buy another one of.
