Hop is a new game for the iOS and Android platforms by Ketchapp where your goal is to hop from platform to platform, racking up a high score, collecting gems and earning new balls. You can compete against players globally to see who can jump their ball the farthest, but there are loads of obstacles to make your run more difficult. Read on for some tips and tricks for Hop!
Sliding your finger back and forth is the usual method to make the ball move, but that can get a little difficult after awhile due to the stickiness built up on your finger after a long time of playing. Instead, slide the tip of your fingernail on the screen to move the ball around instead of your finger. It might take a few plays to get used to but you can keep going for a long time if you do this.
Watch out for the moving platforms. They pop up after around the 35th to 40th point or so, and they don’t show up very often, but they show up just enough to catch you off guard. Always be scanning ahead so that you aren’t taken by surprise if one of them shows up, and so that you can time your jump.

You can collect gems in the level itself but the quickest way to collect more gems is to watch the advertisement videos that pop up after the end of the level. That, and collect the free gift as soon as the countdown is done. Collect it as soon as you can in order to reset the free gift countdown sooner.
If you earn 200 gems, you will be able to unlock a new ball. New balls have different designs, but they all play the same. A ball with a multicolored or checkered pattern tends to be easier for your eyes to track across the level, making it easier to score a high score with that kind of ball.
There are two balls that can be earned without having to spend any gems, as well. They’re for Twitter and Facebook actions. If you don’t have one of the two apps, then you won’t have to like or follow in order to earn the balls. Just tap them and redirect to Safari or Chrome, then go back to the game and the balls will be available.
