Welcome to part 3 of the Clash of Clans beginner’s guide! Click here to go back to part 2 of the guide.
On the left side of the screen that was mentioned in part 2 of the guide is the “multiplayer mode” screen. Multiplayer mode isn’t STRICTLY multiplayer, as in, the other player isn’t actively playing the game. However, this mode will match you up against another player’s base. Click “find a match” and the game will send you to the town of another player who has the same experience level that you do in the game.
When you are invading another player’s base, you also earn stars, but they don’t count toward your total the same way the stars in PvE mode do. Instead, you also earn trophies for destroying another player’s town. Trophies are a measure of who is the top player in Clash of Clans – click the trophy silhouette in the lower corner of the Multiplayer screen to see who the top players in the world are, organized by how many trophies that they have.
Later on in the game, you will be able to restore the clan castle, which is found, in ruins, in the lower left corner of your town, surrounded by trees and rocks. This costs 40,000 coins to restore, but this will let you join a clan or start your own. A clan is a group of players who defend each other’s towns from being attacked by other players.
When you are in town mode, you can always check out a list of achievements that the game gives you to help you start off in the right direction. These achievements earn you experience points and Gems for completing them. Click on the small icon of a woman’s face in the upper left corner, below the trophy count, in order to see these achievements. When you see a number above the picture, that means you earned an achievement, and can collect on it when you go into the menu.
That’s all for the beginner’s guide to Clash of Clans! Enjoy the game!
