Each battle has anywhere between two and four rewards (sometimes a different number) that you can earn. Replay the battles after beating them the first time in order to earn the new rewards. Many of the battles will earn you free Hero Points, which can then be spent on rare two and three-star hero covers.
When you are in the multiplayer mode, increase your rank by earning victories. You have three battles per opponent in which to win, but you get the biggest rewards if you win in just one single battle. Check out your opponent’s cards and their hit points per card before beginning the battle. Try to stick to the ones who are either weaker than you or are about equal strength to you.
When you get duplicate covers, you can’t use them in battle (you can only use one of the same cover), so sell your additional covers. Go to the card catalog menu and tap on the one that you want to sell, and scroll to the right until you see its price. You’ll be able to sell it for additional Iso-8, making it possible to train your original card even further.
In battle, target the enemies who can do the most damage with their special attacks in order to make them disappear early. Also, play a good defense and try to get the shield tiles on screen using a defensive power (for example, Iron Man’s Armored Assault power) and leave the shield tiles on screen for as long as possible to reduce the damage that is done to your characters.
If you are battling against someone with a healing power, don’t use your attack powers right away. Clear tiles for awhile and save up enough AP to do at least 4 or 5 power combos in a row. Then use them all at once and kill off your various opponents before the healing opponent gets a chance to use his or her power.
