The battles are pretty but a little bit slow. You can speed them up by hitting the 2X button in the upper left corner of the screen, which is available right from the get-go. If you want to let the game do the battles automatically, hit the auto button and watch it get to work.

However, there are some cases where manual fighting is better. Use manual fighting if you want to use special attacks in battle, or healing moves/items, because they won’t be used automatically if you go auto. If you’re in manual mode, instead of tapping to collect all of the treasure at the end of the battle, you can simply swipe over it to do the same thing.

Spend your gems wisely. If you save up enough for monster chests or dragon chests, you can earn some very rare monsters. If you need equipment, then use them on the item chests instead; however, spending time rather than gems is wiser, as you can grind in different levels and find equipment drops. The pop up before a fight will show you what items and equipment (and monsters) have a shot at appearing as a reward for winning a battle.

Rare Mino Monsters are more difficult to catch than common ones. The rarer they are, the more strategy you have to use. Take one extra-weak Mino into battle with you. Hammer them with your strong Mino first to take away as much of their HP as possible. Then send your weak Mino in to drain a little more until they’re almost out of HP. Then throw the candy. The rarer the candy, the better the chance of a catch.

Stuck on a rough boss character? Figure out what element they are and then use the countering element against them. Water beats fire, for example, and electric beats water. Save a stash of coins in case you need to level up your Mino beforehand, and craft some healing items and take them into battle for an extra edge.
