Ocean Tales – Guide: Tips, Tricks, Hints, Cheats and Strategies

Ocean Tales is Gamevil’s new city builder for the iOS and Android platforms. You play as a young pirate whose father, the leader of your island home, ran off to sea, and the island has gone to pot so now it’s your job, along with your companion Lorenzo Vespucci, to rebuild the island into greatness. Read on for some tips and tricks for Ocean Tales!

Whenever you construct a building it takes a certain amount of time to complete. You can either wait for it or you can spend Rubies (premium currency) to complete it instantly. Alternately, go to your phone’s settings and set the clock ahead to complete the building instantly. Once you reopen the app the building will be done.

The same thing is true for any crafting or farming that takes time. After you go to the game and collect what you need to collect, go back to the time settings on your phone and set the time back to normal and go back to the game, and you’ll still have everything you gained from the time lapse cheat.

Need more wind energy for building construction? Purchase more decorations. For the most bang for your building space, the little lighthouse and gazeboes are your best bet, but for the best bang for your coins, the fountains and small gazeboes are your best bet (at least for the stuff that costs coins). Spend hearts for more efficient and energy-filled decor.

Help your friends as often as you can in order to earn hearts, which are the social currency of this game. Hearts are earned by going to a friend’s island and applying for a position, and then when they choose you, you get hearts for the work your character does. Also, look for hidden treasure chests around their property. To add more friends, go to the social menu and hit “suggested friends” and add everyone that you can.

Stuck and can’t figure out what to do next? Go to the quest menu and start completing as many quests as you can. They will gradually get you spun up on what to do and where to go next in your island, as well as on how to unlock new islands to sail to, and new things to build.
