Plants vs Zombies 2 is the sequel to the original Plants vs Zombies, and this time, it’s a FREE game on the iOS app store (and coming sometime within the next 2 years, the Android via Google Play). This game plays by the original concept with silly new stories, as well as time travel. Crazy Dave travels back in time to eat a taco that was so good that he just HAS to eat it again, and you, for some reason, have to follow him back and defeat a bunch of zombies using your plants.
First of all, the base of your strategy should be your sunflowers, since they earn you more sunlight. The game tells you that you should have at least three of them, but in reality, you should have at least five of them, so that you can earn sunshine far more quickly. Place them in the very back row to protect them from other zombies.
Wall-nuts are great for protection when you are still building up your plants across all of the rows of play. Plant them across all rows even when you don’t need them – this way, you have time to figure out what you want to do once the big zombie rush at the end of the level comes. Plant your main projectile zombies behind them, and if you need some extra damage done, place your potato mines in front of them.

Try to use your plant food as soon as the bar fills up because when it fills up, you can’t earn anymore until you use one of them. However, if you are getting close to the end of the stage where the zombie rush hits, or you are smack in the middle of the zombie rush, wait until the rush begins and then start using your plant food on plants, especially plants that are in the same row as most of the zombies.
If you are having trouble beating a stage and need to earn more coins, go back to old stages that you can beat fairly easily, and play them over and over again to grind for coins. While it is a bit of a boring task, it will help you buy premium power ups (such as zombie flicking) and beat the seemingly-impossible levels.
This is especially true later in the game, when it will seem like you HAVE to buy one of the premium packages in order to win. You don’t have to buy the premium packages – you just have to grind a LOT for coins.
