Pokémon GO: Umbreon and Espeon cheats, and Nanab and Pinap Berry Guide

Pokémon GO has just seen its largest update to date, and part of that includes the addition of 80 new Pokémon. Two of these Pokémon are the Umbreon and Espeon, which are two new Eevee evolutions from the Gold and Silver generation of the game. Also added to the game are the Pinap and Nanab berries, along with the addition of both a berry carousel and a Pokéball carousel. Read on for tips, tricks, explainers, and cheats for the Umbreon, Espeon, Nanab and Pinap Berries in Pokémon GO!

Back in the first generation of Pokémon GO monsters, there was a very easy way to get your first Vaporeon, Flareon and Jolteon, and that was to use the names of their trainers in the anime: Pyro for Flareon, Sparky for Jolteon, or Rainer for Vaporeon. These only worked during the first time catching each variety of Eevee, but we are happy to report that this same thing rings true for the new evolutions.

To evolve an Umbreon, first, take an Eevee and change its name to Tamar, and then evolve it, and it will become an Umbreon. To evolve an Espeon, take an Eevee and change its name to Sakura, and evolve it. These are also names of the trainers of said Eevees in the anime. The other technique (THIS ONE WORKS EVERY TIME) is to make an Eevee your buddy and then walk 10KM, and collect two candies from it. It has to do both. Then, evolve your buddy and it will become Espeon or Umbreon.

There are two new berries in addition to the Razz Berry. The first of these berries is the Nanab Berry. In order to get the Nanab Berry (which looks like a banana bunch), spin Pokéstops just like you would for the standard berries. When you use a Nanab Berry, it will slow down the movement of a Pokémon which makes it easier to chuck a Pokéball at it and land it.

Arguably the most important of the new berries is the Pinap Berry. This Pineapple-lookalike will give you double the candy when you catch a Pokémon using this berry. If it’s an evolved Pokémon (second or third tier), it will give you even more candy than that – 20 candy for a third-tier evolution for example. So if you are grinding to try to evolve a Pokémon or power it up then keep a stash of this berry around and throw one before you toss the Pokéball.

You can only use one berry at a time, though, still. So you have to choose between the Razz, Nanab and Pinap before you toss a Pokéball. The Razz still does the same thing as it always has, which is that it increases your chances of having the Pokémon stick in the Pokéball after you toss it.
