The system of stats and upgrading is a very complex one. The actual stat will be on the left side of the screen, and your experience points until that stat levels up is represented by the green bar on the right. The experience points that you earn from the fights themselves can be used to upgrade your strength, stamina, speed, and health.

The gym can be used to upgrade all of these except your health. You can do three turns at the heavy bag, the jumping rope, and the double end punching bag, and then when you run out of turns, you can spend gold coins in order to purchase more of them. Doing the gym over and over might be a bit tedious, but it’s a way to quickly build up experience points and get your stats as high as they need to be in order to beat tougher challengers.

Respect the stamina bar when you’re fighting. When the yellow stamina bar drops down, your punches will become slow and lazy, so stand and block and dodge. Your best bet is to wait your opponent out while they throw punches at you. When their stamina bar drops, punch them until yours drops and then start blocking and dodging (and clinching when able) in order to recover.

Mix your punches up, don’t just throw the same punch over and over. Especially be sure to use body shots. They are the only type of punch that will shorten your opponent’s entire stamina bar, so if you work the body shot enough, they’ll actually be able to throw less punches than they did before.

Use your coins to buy premium equipment. Some equipment will boost your stats, so equip yourself based on what stats you want to improve. Plus, if you are equipped with gloves, shorts and shoes entirely from the same set, you will receive a huge extra boost of the specified stat.
