When you are organizing your team, you can use strategy and tactics to make up for a deficiency of premium cards. Put in all six types of cards (a commander, a heavy gunner, a sniper, a demolisher, a medic and a scout) to get an extra 5 points added onto your team ranking. Put in team members who are all from the same star to add 5 points to your team ranking as well. If you can do both of these at the same time you’ll add an extra ten points to your team rank.
Even if your team is loaded with silver and gold players, you still want to be equipped in every skill slot and every weapon and armor slot. If you have a lot of empty slots and don’t have at least 10,000 coins, then load up on bronze card packs until you get enough gear and skill perks to fill every single slot. From there, upgrade as you earn more premium gear and skill perks.
In addition to the above, buying loads of bronze and silver card packs will ensure a steady supply of tactics cards to use during the veteran campaign and the elite campaign. It’s easy to run out when you are using all three per round, but a supply of bronze and silver card packs will ensure that you never run out if you purchase them often enough.
Earning specials earns you more experience and coins per round. Each special is one special type of kill – for example, one veteran kill, one streak kill, and one revenge kill would be equal to 3 specials.
If your team has a high enough rating for your rank you shouldn’t need to use any tactic cards during regular campaigns. Save them for the veteran campaign and (if you are very advanced in the game) the elite campaign. Play all two (or all three) campaigns every day to maximize your earning potential for Bucks.
Between the bucks that you earn from winning Regular and Veteran modes, and the bucks that you earn from beating the advanced campaigns on the Star Maps, save your bucks so that when you hit 400 you can buy a premium Soldier Pack. The more gold and elite soldiers that you get on your team, the higher your chances of beating the Elite Campaigns, and if you have an all-elite team, you should win every single game, even on the elite campaigns.
