This trick doesn’t necessarily work every time; however, sometimes it does work. It can be a crapshoot though. To speed up anything from coin and food collecting to the upgrading of existing buildings and the construction of new buildings (not to mention upgrading troops, spells and defenses), go to the date and time settings on your device and then set the time ahead. Then go back to the app and collect what you can now collect. Again, this usually doesn’t work but every so often, it will.

As you unlock more troops and have to go into more difficult battles, you’ll need to begin planning a strategy. Tap on the troop academy, go to the training area, and then tap on the picture of every one of your troops (be it a troop that has been unlocked or a troop that has not been unlocked) to see what each of their special traits are. For example, knights are strong against poison. Paladins are strong against archers and other paladins but weak against poison.
You won’t be able to make too much use of this for offense, since every player tends to do something different, but for defense this is important. Usually, other players will have knights be the cornerstone of their offense, for example, so use long-range weaponry such as Arblasters and Archers to counter them – or just upgrade your own knights to a higher level than everybody else’s.
That’s another thing, too. Don’t forget to upgrade the Castle Guard as high as you can, and to fill out every available wave of troops, not just one of the waves. The more that you upgrade the Castle Guard, the more waves become available and the more troops per wave that you can use.
All in all, this game is very simple and there really is not all that much to it. Simply keep training your troops and upgrading existing troops (and doing the same thing with spells), beating other player, earning coins, upgrading buildings, rinse, lather, repeat. The faster you upgrade the farms and earn food, the more battles you can win, the faster you can beat your friends in the contest of who can get more trophies and medals.
