Spartan Wars Resource Guide: How to get more food, wood, gold and stone

Any good Greek empire needs the basics to run, no matter how much favor you have with the Gods. In Spartan Wars: Elite Edition or Empire of Honor (which are the same game), one of the most frustrating things that can happen is when you want to train more troops and defenses (especially after you just got nailed by another kingdom) in order to get more power, but magically, you don’t have enough resources to do so because, well, you just got nailed by another kingdom! So here’s how to get more resources.

First, the obvious. Every day you get to open one treasure chest which contains a large amount of one type of resource. They don’t get added to your stash, though, unless you actively go to your menu, then to your Items tab. Once there, go to My Item and to Resources, and you’ll see any of the daily bonuses there that you earned. Use them and they will be added to your stash. Try to use them only when needed, so they won’t get stolen every time you get destroyed by another kingdom.

Continually upgrade your resource buildings (Goldmine, Sawmill, Stone Quarry and Farm) so that they put out more resources every hour. Also, upgrade your cottages so that you have enough slaves to add to each building once you upgrade it. Without more slaves, they’ll just keep putting out the same quantity of resources even after the upgrade. Also, build storages for your wood, food and stone, and upgrade the City Hall and the “Elite Management” skill in the Academy so that you can protect more resources.

Do new research in the academy to speed up the acquisition of resources as well. Upgrade your Gold Prospector, Elite Lumberjack, Stone Worker and Power of Agriculture. Your choice of which god to worship can also add bonuses to your resource production, as can various bonuses hat you can buy with pearls or that you can earn in the daily bonuses.

Finally, attack other cities and take their resources. Your best picks are cities that are at a relatively high level with relatively low power (or at least lower power than your own army has). These cities are always going to be loading back up with resources, because they’re cities controlled by someone who built up, then stopped playing the game.
