The Bot Squad: Puzzle Battles is a new tower defense/attack game for the iOS and Android platforms by Ubisoft. Your goal is to go through 200 (and growing) stages drawing out a path for your drones, collecting stars and avoiding enemy fire, attacking enemies as well, while collecting orbs and crystals. Each time that you play a stage, you use one energy from your battery. Your maximum energy is 8, and each one requires half an hour of time (!) in order to restore, typically. If you want to restore it right away though, you can always set the time ahead on your phone or tablet. This requires half an hour per energy that you are trying to restore.
Best part is that you can do this as many times as you want. If you want to set the time back to normal, do so at any time and you’ll still keep all of your extra energy. You can also use the same trick to make all of your upgrades finish immediately, rather than having to wait the extra time until they finish.
Crystals are the premium currency of the game. If you want to load up on them, then log into Facebook from the game and when you are prompted to share an accomplishment, do it. If you don’t want to spam your feed or your friends, then set the privacy so that “only me” sees the posts that you make. That way only you will see them if you look at your own feed – nobody else will. Not your friends or strangers.
Protect the stars when you are on defense. Make it so that each of your defensive robots covers as much ground as possible and you can get more firepower out of each individual one. Conversely, when you are on offense, make sure that you take the paths that are farthest away from the tower bots, minimizing the amount that you get hit.
Want to find more orbs? If you are stuck on a stage, go back to an older stage and beat it again and again to earn the orbs. For extra impact, combine this with the time lapse cheat so that you can play each stage as often as humanly possible.
