War of Tribes: Stone Age – Tips and Cheats: The Strategy Guide

War of Tribes: Stone Age is a new MMOTD (yes, this is a brand new genre) for the iOS and Android platforms. Traditional 2D tower defense style gameplay is combined with an all-encompassing war system reminiscent of that which is found in the Kingdoms of Camelot series to make for a surprisingly unique take on the concept. Read on for some tips and tricks for War of Tribes: Stone Age!

The tower defense gameplay is fairly straightforward in this game. The village itself, however, is mired in an absolute hurricane of convolute, due to the fact that there’s seemingly so much information and so much to do. First, look for the quest menu. This, along with the Mission menu (less so), will give you direction on where to go next. Not only that but there are so many quests that the amount of rewards you can earn is rather staggering.

As you gain experience points, you will be able to upgrade your Chief’s Hut, Boost Hut, Workshop and other buildings to higher levels. The maximum level is five per experience level for your hero. This means, for example, that each boost in the Boost Hut will be upgradable to the Boost Hut’s current level, each piece of equipment can be upgraded to the workshop’s current level, and so on and so forth. You’ll unlock more buildings automatically as you complete more quests.

Always be sure to check your bindle, too. Open any gifts, boxes, chests and other goodies that you’ve earned and/or are eligible for. Sort out the whole mess by using the auto sort button, then work your way through and it will be fairly easy to figure out what’s what. Go to the Gem icon in the menu screen to equip gems onto your heroes’ equipment. Then equip anything that improves upon previous equipment, try to fully equip all of your heroes, then boost it at the workshop, and sell what you don’t need.

All of this goes toward helping out with the tower defense portion of the gameplay, but in there, some strategy can make up for a lack of upgrading, especially when it comes to tougher enemies. Your smash hero is the most important key to the puzzle because he sends out other warriors when you place him down. They will stop enemies in their tracks and fight with them, allowing your other towers more time to attack.

Boom towers do splash damage, making them an easy choice for killing small enemies that appear in large numbers. Juju heroes, on the other hand, will do high damage with one target at a time, making them the best choice for taking out larger, more powerful enemies. A good mix will win you most any round.
