In this game you start off with five lives, and each time that you lose one, it takes a long time to restore. If you want to speed it along, though, the best way to do so is to set the time ahead on your phone or tablet, whichever one you play the game on. Set it ahead by 30 minutes per life, or 2 1/2 hours for a full restoration.

If you don’t want to do the time cheat, then the way to go is asking your friends on Facebook for lives. Send invites to people who you know either like match-3 games or The Wizard of Oz. Or look for people to add as friends who play the game. A good place to look is in the comment section of this article. The App Store review page is also a good place to search.

Match four pieces in a row in order to make a line-clearing piece, and match five pieces in an L or T or + shape to make a bomb. Match four pieces in a 2×2 formation to make a butterfly, and match five pieces in a row to make a lollipop that changes all of one color on the board into the same color as the lollipop.

Not only that, but mix two of the special pieces together in order to get an even bigger effect. This can be anything from a double line-clearing effect (with two line-clearing pieces) to clearing off the entire board (for two lollipops), and mixing two different pieces together, such as a bomb and a butterfly, also has good effects. Whenever you are stuck on a level, there is almost always a benefit to be had from combining two special pieces.

Currently you can purchase gold in the store for real-life money (or get free gold by connecting to Facebook) and you can purchase lives using the gold. Axes and gifts are shown as being available for later consumption (after a future update) but right now you cannot buy either one.
