Bold Moves – Tips and Tricks Guide: Hints, Cheats, and Strategies

Bold Moves is the first game for the iOS and Android platforms by OWN LLC, Oprah Winfrey’s media production company. This game, which is now on the list of Oprah’s Favorite Things, is a match-three puzzler combined with a Hangman-style word and sentence-guessing game. Your goal is to clear blocks and unlock one of Oprah’s favorite quotes, many of which are by her and many of which are by other celebs. Read on for some tips and tricks for Bold Moves!

Like all match-three games, you unlock special tiles by matching four or five pieces at a time. If you match four, you’ll get a line-clearing tile. If you match five in an L or t-shape, you’ll unlock a flower, which blows up all of the surrounding pieces. If you match five in a straight line, you get a butterfly, which knocks out all of the pieces of one specific color.

Mix two of these tiles together for results that are often spectacular. Mix two flowers together and you’ll blow up most of the board, and mixing two line pieces together clears out two lines instead of just one line. Mix a flower and a butterfly and it will have about the same result as mixing two flowers together. Mix two butterflies together to clear out the entire board.

If you don’t finish a level, you lose a life, and each life lost can be recovered by waiting half an hour or by spending diamonds. If you don’t want to do either one of these things though, set the time on your phone ahead by half an hour per life lost, then go back to the game and they will be recovered right away. Plus, if you set the time back to normal after this, you won’t lose the lives that you just recovered for free.

When you reach a specific point in the game, you will be able to select from a specific category of quotes, such as relationships or aspirational. No matter which category you pick, the puzzle boards will be the same. All that changes is the phrase that you have to guess.

When it comes time to guess a word, you can guess the letters in any order that you want, like in Wheel of Fortune. If you guess one letter and it’s on the board in more than one place, it will automatically show up everywhere that it appears in the phrase, making them easier to guess overall.
