Boulder Jack – Tips, Tricks, Cheats, and Strategy Guide

Boulder Jack is a new iPhone and iPad “reverse endless runner” game, meaning an endless runner in which the protagonist runs toward the player, not away from the player. In other words, it’s the Indiana Jones boulder scene, in game form. Your goal, of course, is to run as far as you can, away from the boulder, avoiding the endless obstacles that come at you from out of nowhere and collecting coins. Read on for some tips and tricks for Boulder Jack!

One oddity about this game is that it seems like you can take a nearly endless amount of hits before your run is screwed over. Pay attention to the boulder, though, and you will notice that it gets closer and closer every time that you run into something. Be careful to avoid obstacles, but be extra careful when you notice that the boulder is getting closer to you.

In general, a good strategy to remember is to follow the path of the coins. If you follow the path of the coins, you will not hit anything because obstacles don’t cross their paths. Just don’t get so sidetracked that you forget to jump over something at the end of the coin trail.

There are plenty of upgrades to purchase, but in general if you are trying to collect as many coins as possible, go for the upgrade to the coin magnet first. The coin a magnet automatically draws all coins toward your character as long as it is active, and each coin magnet upgrade will increase the amount of time that it is active for after you pick it up.

Otherwise, most of the upgrades are good for going a longer distance. The most direct upgrade for this is the head start, and unlike most endless runner games where you purchase one head start at a time, this one will give you a permanent head start after you buy it.

Purchase the armor upgrade and you will have more room for mistakes during your run. Each hit will do less damage to your character, so you will notice that with each hit, the boulder will move less and less toward you with each upgrade to your armor, and this will allow you to run for longer periods of time.
