Doing short swipes is the way to overwhelm the enemy with jab attacks, but swiping and then holding the screen before letting go is how you do a special attack – the longer you hold the screen, the more powerful the attack and the better job it does at breaking through guarding maneuvers and shields. You have five lives in this game, and whenever you lose a stage, you use up a life and it takes half an hour to come back unless you spend Jade to bring it back right away. If you want to regain that life immediately (or all five immediately), though, set the time ahead on your phone or tablet, by half an hour per life.
Then, go back to the game and verify your extra lives – you will see a full five lives in your life bar. Next, go back to the date and time settings screen and set the time on your phone back to normal. Now go back to the game and your lives will still be entirely refilled. That means that you can do this trick as many times as you want without having to have your phone kept at whacked-out times.
In addition to upgrading your skills, save coins so that you can buy a new outfit, as this is worth the same as many upgraded skills at the same time. With the skills, too, don’t neglect upgrading your fury, as this is the key to beating up tough bosses. Use your fury either when the going (and the bosses) get tough, or simply use it as often as possible.
Go to the main game mode select screen (where you choose between The Last Straw, Beatdown Buffet and Endurance) and go to the icon in the lower left hand corner of the game. Tap it to watch advertisement movies in order to earn free Jade. Watch videos until you run out, then come back in 15 minutes or so and the videos will have returned.
