Castaway Cove – Tips and Tricks Guide: Hints, Cheats, and Strategies

Castaway Cove is a new spin on the Adventure Capitalist formula by Kongregate for the iOS and Android platforms. Your goal here is to earn sand dollars, collect resources, and rebuild your ship so that you can sail away and look for doubloons. You can explore new areas of the island for treasure and gems, complete missions, and even upgrade your castaways. Read on for some tips and tricks for Castaway Cove!

When you’re offline for a long period of time, all of your earnings will build up, including both sand dollars and anything that your castaways are mining. When you log back on again, make sure that you have an internet connection. You’ll be able to double all of your earnings just by watching the video. If you don’t have an internet connection when you log back in, though, you won’t be able to watch the video.

The higher your level gets, the more areas of the island you’ll be able to explore. Split your castaways evenly between the areas that you want to collect resources from. Always open chests in order to find more castaways, so that you can put them to work. You might even need some of them to work on the older areas such as the forest, because wood and stone are always needed to upgrade the earlier buildings.

Want to get free gems? Go to the store, and then scroll down to the gems portion of it. Hit the top left button, which says free, and you’ll see a list of offers come up which will offer free gems when you complete them. Most of these offers are completely free and will require no credits cards, although the paid offers are far more lucrative when it comes to earning gems.

Set your upgrade multiplier to Rank Up when you want to rank your various buildings up, but you don’t want to blow out all of your offline sand dollars by hitting the max multiplier. Go through your buildings and rank up everything that you can, keeping an eye on how much sand dollars you’ll be left with after the next upgrade.

If you want to earn sand dollars quickly for another upgrade or two, treat this like an old-school clicker game. Turn the phone to portrait mode (landscape mode will make everything smaller) and scroll over to your most lucrative building, and then tap it. Tap with two fingers alternating if you can in order to speed things up; each tap will earn you money. If you aren’t sure which building is your most lucrative, tap around until you figure out which of them is earning you the most money.
