Zynga’s CityVille for Facebook: Building headquarters and franchises

CityVille is the top Facebook game of all time, and one of the reasons for it is the fun of building your own franchises and franchise headquarters. You can have your franchise in your neighbors’ cities! Here’s a guide on how to make it happen.

You need to unlock the ability to build franchises before you even do any of this. This is something that is simply done by completing missions. Just keep completing the missions that the game automatically lines up for you and you will eventually unlock it.

Then, you will need to find an empty plot in your neighbors’ cities. Once you do this, click it and the game will pop up a list of businesses you can host on the plot. Choose a business and your neighbor can then accept that business in his or her city.

Now, when the franchise is built, the game will prompt you to construct a headquarters for your business. It doesn’t need to be connected to any roads and it won’t be affected by nearby decorations, so you can put it completely out of the way so that you don’t clog up valuable land that could otherwise be used to make money and farm. Supply franchises by clicking the HQ. Collect bonuses this way as well. Supplying a  franchise in your friend’s town only costs half of what it costs you to supply the same business in your own city.

Now, keep doing this over and over every time you find an empty plot in a friend’s city. If you run out of friends who have blank plots of land to build on, add more neighbors and you’ll find more empty plots.

Return the favor too and allow your neighbors to franchise out to your city. You can build more blank plots and invite your neighbors to expand their franchises to your town. When you let your neighbor put franchises in your town, they will be more likely to return the favor and build more empty plots as well.

You can build more and more of the same franchise (for example, if your coffee shop is Squeezebox’s Coffee, build more and more Squeezebox’s Coffee franchises in your neighbor’s cities, over other franchises). The more of them you build, the taller your headquarters will grow. Franchising our your version of the “Tower Eats” restaurant, which already has a very tall headquarters, will allow you to grow a ridiculously massive HQ skyscraper if you build enough of them.

Make franchises your first priority and you’ll become a CityVille mogul!
