Devious Dungeon – Tips and Cheats: The Ultimate Strategy Guide

Devious Dungeon is a new psuedo roguelike, in side scrolling form, for the iPad and iPhone. Your goal is to quest through a large number of dungeons, for reasons that are known only to the developers of the game, but despite the lack of story, this game can be seriously addicting. Read on for some tips and tricks for Devious Dungeon!

Whenever you die, unlike in most roguelikes, you’ll be able to start from checkpoints. Checkpoints will pop up around every three levels or so that you complete. You have to get a key and then find the gate in order to get to the next level. If you forget where the gate is, always be sure to check the map screen, because if you have ever so much as barely passed the gate, it will show on the map screen.

You have three statistics that you can boost. You can either boost your attack, your health, or your critical damage. Your critical damage is the most worthless one because there are so few times where it will actually come in handy. Arguably, the attack damage is the most important thing, because you can destroy enemies in fewer hits and put yourself at less of a risk.

The same is true for the equipment that you can buy from Olaf. Increase your stamina and you will be able to go for longer, with more health and hearts. Increase your attack power and not only will your attack increase, but so will your critical attack damage, simply due to the mathematical fact that critical hits do double the damage.

Be as evasive as possible in order to get as far as you can. Practice the hit and run as much as you can. Jumping from a lower level is the best way to do this, but you can hit and then literally run away for the same effect. The most important thing here is simply to avoid getting hit.

If you want to maximize your coins, start over from the first stage, rather from the most recent checkpoint. You will pick up more coins due to killing more enemies, and at the end of your run, you will get more of a bonus for having gone through more different stages.
