You have two options in order to avoid getting killed, and those options are to either dodge an enemy or to fire a shot and blast them. You have a set amount of ammunition, so you won’t be able to blast forever, but each time that you hit the dodge button, your ammunition refills, allowing you to fire even more shots. Strategic use of shots and blasts is needed in order to earn the highest possible score.

The most valuable skill that you can learn in this game is to fire a shot while you are moving with enough accuracy to hit enemies that aren’t either on the far left or far right side of the screen. Not only can you score plenty of extra points this way, but you will also need to use this skill in order to defeat all of the bosses. The bosses sit in the middle of the screen and fire shots at you, so you will need to fire a shot in the middle of dodging in order to damage them.

You have multiple ships available all throughout the game, each with a different speed rating and a separate maximum ammunition storage. The default ship is a good one to start with because it has a speed and ammunition rating of three; after that, your playing style will determine what ship is the best fit. But a good recommendation is the slow ship with an ammunition of four.

Collect all of the power ups that you see in the level. Most of them will be weapon upgrades, which especially make a difference when you start to come across enemies that take more than one shot to kill. Some of them are shields that allow you to withstand a more than one head before dying.

Another strategy for knocking off loads of enemies, and even tough bosses, is to rapidly hit the blast button and intermittently have the dodge button. The trick is to keep yourself around the middle of the screen so that you fire loads of shots at the boss in short succession. This is especially effective against the second boss due to the volume of shots that it fires at you.
