DomiNations is a new MMO strategy game by the guy who did Civilization 2, Bryan Reynolds, and Big Huge Games, and this might be the first time that using the term “Clashalike” to describe a Clash of Clans-esque game might be undercutting it. You start off in the ancient civilizations of the Middle East and move up to the Bronze, Iron and Industrial Ages, even to the Space Age and beyond – and oh yeah, you do a whole hell of a lot of fighting along the way. Gradual upgrading is the name of the game here, so you should always try to have an upgrade project (or two, or more) going at once. To make this happen maximize your food and gold output by mining your gold mines and adding more fruit trees, expanding so that you can find more animals, and keeping your markets and your mills maxed out in number and upgraded.

It won’t be long before you start getting attacked by other players (basically, right after you get used to the game you will get thrown into the fray), so start maxing out on the defenses immediately. Once you hit the bronze age you will be able to start building walls, and as you increase in ages you’ll be able to upgrade them higher and higher. Wall off the most important buildings, such as the town center and the resource buildings. Keep everything as close together as you can so that your defenses have a lot of range to work with.
Use your troops similar to how you would use them in Clash of Clans and similar games. If you had a strategy that worked there, chances are it will work similarly now, but be sure to use the targeting feature. Knock off enemy defenses first whenever possible, as well as the town center and the resource buildings.
Want to find an area that’s best for farming other players? Drop your medals below 200 and you’ll find a group of hardcore players who all farm off of each other, like in CoC. Just be prepared to spend what you earn or they will attack you back very quickly and steal it all. A better bet would be to raise your medals to a level where you find a lot of abandoned bases (later on in the life of the game, not now when the game is new).
If you are stuck on what to do next, complete the goals given to you by Zeus in order to earn more crowns, which are the premium currency of the game. Expand and explore the ruins as they are prolific sources of crowns as well.
