There are a number of trophies that you can earn in the game. The trophies don’t really do too much other than allow you to show off how many of them you have via Facebook or whatnot. Most of the trophies are earned via playing enough rounds of the game – for example, you will earn a new one after 1 round, 10 rounds, then 20, then 40, etc, irrespective of your score. You also earn a new trophy every time you earn a new high score.

Previously, we also discussed the three power ups, being the minimizer, the expander and the time stop. You can buy these using Dots, which are your currency in the game. You get one dot for every one dot that you clear off of the board whenever you play, so the dots start to add up over time, especially once you have hundreds of games under your belt.

The minimizer costs 500 for 10, the time stop costs 1,000 for 5 units, and the expander costs 5,000 for 5 of them. The expander and the time stop can only be used once each time you play a round, but the minimizer can be used as many times as you can manage to use it per round.

When you’re in a stage and you clear off all possible two-dot combinations, this is the only time you get free bonus dots in the middle of the round. The game will automatically clear out dots until there are many combinations left, so you get however many dots the game clears out. Regarding dots as currency, you can buy them too, up to 50,000 for 5 dollars, with two cheaper packages available as well.

Go back to the main menu and in addition to being able to see the high scores and the trophies, you can change your nickname on the worldwide scoreboard, or turn the sound on and off in the game.

That’s all for the game, really. It’s a very simple game, but it’s HARD! Enjoy your time playing Dots!
