Fishdom 2 (iOS) Tips and Tricks Guide: Hints, Cheats and Strategies

Fishdom 2 is the latest iPhone and iPad adaptation of the popular match-three franchise. Fishdom 2 pretends to be an aquarium game, but really, the center of the game is the match 3 play. Your goal is to build up your aquariums using the money that you earn from playing in the match 3 games. The more money the make, the rarer fish, decorations and comfort items that you can buy. Read on for some tips and tricks for Fishdom 2!

You get money for three things in the match three games: the number of gold squares, the score that you get and how quickly you finish the stage. The gold square bonuses are always set. The score bonus is 1 dollar per hundred points, so you can go for the high score but it’s hardly worth it. Try to finish the stage as quickly as possible in order to earn the most coins possible.

You can increase your fish score, beauty score, and comfort score to earn cups, which will allow you to unlock more aquariums. Maximize one of the bars to earn a bronze cup, one more to earn a silver cup, and all three to earn a gold cup. The more cups that you earn, the more aquariums that you can unlock.

You don’t have to turn your aquarium into a hoarder’s paradise, though. The more that your fish or your comfort items cost, the higher that the bar will go, so you can raise the bar to the maximum with the minimum space usage possible. Beauty items mostly cost the same all around, though, so it doesn’t matter which ones you buy as long as you buy enough of them to fill up the bar.

There is no energy metric in Fishdom 2, so you can play as often as you’d like. If you are stuck on a stage, just start making combos in random places, not bothering with the gold squares. Eventually, if you run out of combos, the whole board will reshuffle, which should provide you with brand new combos that can knock off the gold squares, or the pieces above the gold squares.
