The Gate is a new iOS card battling strategy game by Spicy Horse Games. You take control of a party of not-so-cute looking monsters in hell, where the only thing left to do is fight for supremacy, and because there is nothing else to do. So naturally, your goal is to quest through a number of stages using the strongest demons that you can get your hands on. Read on for some tips and tricks for The Gate by Spicy Horse Games!

While the game starts off easy, it won’t be long before the levels become troublesome. Use the upgrade function to power up your rarest cards first, and then once they hit their maximum level, start upgrading your next rarest cards. Your upgrades should always go to the cards that are the least likely to be replaced in the near future.

If you run out of cards to use as upgrade fodder and you are having trouble on a current stage, go back to any of the old stages that you find easy to beat, so that you can earn more soul coins and common cards. Even some rare cards might drop when you’re there. Use the common cards as upgrade fodder, then upgrade as many cards as you need to, to level 10 (or higher if they have been evolved).

If you still need to power up, go to the arena and collect various forms of Devil’s Blood so that you can upgrade statistics on your rare cards even further. Then upgrade your cards’ skills.

Under the social menu, you can add friends. Right now there is no way to add friends via friend code or anything like that, rather they are all randomized instead. Plus, you can add people that you encounter randomly after quest battles. You can also enter any redeem codes you might find for bonuses. Redeem codes will usually be found on The Gate’s Facebook Feed or be given to players who have made a real-money purchase and had it not go through, as a way of restoring the purchase.

Go to Achievements under the “more” menu and collect crystals as quickly as you can, because they are one of the best ways to get free rare summons. Participate in raid battles as often as possible for additional bonuses.

About Evan Heisenberg

Evan Heisenberg named himself after a Breaking Bad character one time, and then got stuck with it. He’s a San Diego guy living in Tacoma, so he legitimately enjoys the cliche “long walks on the beach.” Aside from writing about mobile games, Evan is an aircraft hydraulic maintainer and maintenance instructor. He likes weightlifting, beer, dad jokes, the Padres and Chargers, and slightly-old luxury and exotic cars.
