Gladiators: Call of Arena has finally been released for the iOS and Android platforms, but up until now it’s been playable only on web browsers. This game plays like a cross between a MOBA and Clash of Clans. You build a team of gladiators, each with their own specific class of weapon, and you can play in single player, PvP modes and even simply manage your town and perform in the theater. Battles are pretty easy – all that you have to do is direct your gladiators towards whoever you want them to attack. Generally, it’s best to target one enemy at a time with all three of them in order to start nullifying enemy attacks as quickly as possible. Use your special move as often as possible for maximum effectiveness.
Be smart when choosing which players to battle. Battles are generally organized by fame, and once you get past a certain level (around 17-20), the pairings get skewed. Either level yourself up to around 30-40, or start playing with a fame avoidance strategy. in order to avoid having this happen.
There are many facets to an avoidance strategy, but the main gist of it is not to engage in single-player campaign battles, not to participate in the theatre (for fame purposes) and not to collect from your treasury as that, too, will earn you fame. Don’t collect from your quests either, if they involve fame. This is kind of the equivalent of the Clash of Clans trophy-dropping, except once you decide to raise fame it’s much harder to undo.
Want to get better gladiators? Then your goal here is to upgrade the Tavern as much as possible – the higher the upgrade level, the more upgrades that you can do to it. Use your free refreshes as often as possible so that you can maximize your potential list of recruitable gladiators.
Join up with an alliance as soon as you can, because there is quite a bit more gameplay once you do. Alliance play is a very quick way to earn gems, which are the premium currency of the game, or even go on daily battles. Alliance play is one of the fastest ways to earn more gems.
Another good way to earn more gems is to go to the trophy logo in the lower left corner of the screen, which represents achievements. Complete achievements in order to earn more gems, and scour the list for the easiest and/or quickest assignments to make it happen in short order.
