Godus – How to load up on Wheat and Ore quickly

Godus, which is Peter Molyneux’s latest baby, is one of the fastest growing games around for the iOS and Android platforms, as well as for the desktops and laptops. Everything starts off all hunky dory early on, with the seeming ability to construct an unlimited number of settlements, but eventually, you’ll unlock the farms and mines. Once you unlock farms, each abode will cost 1 wheat, and once you get the mines, each abode will cost one what and one ore. Read on to find out how to get more wheat and ore so that you can keep making progress!

First, you’ll need to have the settlement in order to convert your villagers to farmers or to miners. Tap the settlement and tap the farmers/miners icon to see how many you currently have, how many you can have at the maximum, and how many aren’t working. To increase the maximum, build more abodes near your settlement, then use the settlement powers again to suck the additional abodes into your pre-existing settlement, or build a new abode inside the settlement once you unlock that ability.

Once you train a farmer or miner, tap the settlement with the unemployed worker, and he’ll come out and build in one of the nearest plots. After the mine or farm is built, they can then start earning wheat or ore for you. Bigger farms and mines earn more wheat and ore and employ more farmers or miners. Once the farms are ready to be collected from, tap them to collect the wheat and ore and reset the counter.

If you want to cheat and speed up the production in your mines and your farms (at least on the Android or iOS version of the game), go to the date and time settings on your phone or tablet and set the time ahead by however long it takes to complete mining or farming (6 hours maximum). Then go back to Godus and collect from all of them. Then set the time ahead again and do it all over again.

Setting the time backwards will not have the same effect as setting the time forward will. This means that you can do this trick as many times as you want without worrying about screwing up your game. If your game freezes (which it might do), simply close it out, wait a minute or two, and then open it again.

If you don’t want to cheat the time, use the Rain of Purity on your farms in order to skyrocket the rate of growth. This costs belief, but it’s worth it in order to build faster.
