Even higher quantities of gold are earned by passing an entire map and unlocking a new map. Plus, this is one of the ways which can often earn you free gems; however, not every map will earn you gems when you pass it. Also, the bonus quests will often be more difficult and earn you even less gold than the normal quests, so avoid them, for the most part.
Participate in battles. Win and you will earn more gold than if you lose, so pick the easiest players to battle. The easy ones will be the ones with the smallest gold and trophy bonuses. Players with gold bonuses of over 150 will often be too difficult to beat, unless you have some runes equipped that will improve your stats.
Look through your runes and when your energy and stamina are full, equip runes that will add a bonus to the gold that you collect. Then, do all of the above, but at high speed while the runes are in effect, because once they are gone, they are gone.
There are a few ways to get free gems, aside from unlocking new maps. Achieve mastery on individual quests – usually, this is very difficult to do, but it will earn you a surprisingly high amount of free gems. Also, go to the mail menu and send a text message via the SMS button and you can earn free gems, even if the text that you send is to yourself.
