Katy Perry Pop is the new celebrity-infused star-making game from Glu Games, the company behind Kim Kardashian: Hollywood. In this game, your goal is to become a famous pop star, and you do so with the help of Katy Perry, who helps your character get inspired, gives him or her ideas on what to do next, and brings many of her famous (and not always human) friends, such as Left Shark, into the game. Read on for some tips and tricks for Katy Perry Pop!
Even though the game is pretty linear, there are a ton of side quests throughout the game. When you get bored of completing the quests that you are given, go look around for various other characters, with or without the Katy Vision glasses on. You’ll find different characters with the Katy Vision glasses as opposed to without so be sure to look for both.
Energy is your main limiting factor in this game; when you run out of energy, you can’t do anything else until you get your energy back, unless you gain an experience level, which gives you a free refill. Alternatively, you can also set the time ahead on your phone or tablet to get all of your energy back at once (or some of your energy, depending on how far ahead you set the time).
The only downside to doing this is that you have to keep setting the time ahead in order to continue getting energy refills. If you set the time back to normal, you will keep your energy, but the time that you had cheated off of the game will end up getting added back to the energy timer. So you’re better off either waiting for the energy to come back or purchasing more energy, which you can do with Katy Gems (the premium currency of the game).
Be sure that you have a full load of energy whenever you start an energy-intensive task, such as recording a song or playing a performance. You don’t want to accidentally time yourself out of it by running out of energy, and if you use the energy cheat you’ll run down your available time to finish the quest. Wait for your energy to fill up or complete the quest right after leveling up. You can grind for experience by playing non-quest performances at Bird Beach, or recording in mom’s garage, until you gain a level.
