When you draw with your finger, you use up some of the line that you are given. Use the bar at the top left area of the screen to judge how much line you have left. Use less line, and you get more stars; consequently, use more line and you will get less stars. The more stars that you earn, the more coins that you get for that specific round. If you need more coins at any time, you can always go back and earn more stars on a level that you one- or two-starred.

If you need to use a line to move a ball out of its spot, then the way to do so is, according to the tutorial, to draw a diagonal line to drop and roll it in the desired direction. Another way to do so, though, if you want to be frugal with the amount of line that you use, is to tap and make dots on the opposite side of the line that you want the balls to roll on.
Take into consideration the safety of the balls, because if you kill off one of them, then you lose the round. Watch out for potential falls so that you don’t accidentally kill off a ball or two. Hook any platform that you draw to whatever anchor that you have available. For balance levels with a platform on one side, such as level 21, draw one side longer than the other to tip the platform and roll the balls into each other while still keeping them safe.
As you earn more and more coins, you will be able to purchase upgrade not only for your balls, but to change the look of the game itself. The upgrades won’t change anything about the way the game plays, just about the appearance of it. You can buy new pens (but not a new ink color) and new clothing for your balls. You can even purchase new backgrounds.
You can play levels in any order that you want to. There is no requirement to go from level 1 to level 2, etc, so you can play them in any order that you want. The higher the level that you go, the more difficult the level is, but it’s not always that way, so you can realistically play in any order that you want and still be successful. The only cutoff that blocks you from playing a level is not having enough stars to unlock it.
