In Madden NFL 25, energy makes its series debut (sort of). Being that it’s the first freemium game in the series (aside from some Facebook card-battler variants), of course it’s going to cost energy to play downs or to take on challenges. Coins and cash are the two currencies, with coins being the more common one and cash being the rare one, and both of them are used to buy goodies such as card packs. Coins are earned by playing games, whether they be games that are played against other players, played in the solo challenges, or even just practice events. Essentially, any time that you spend energy, you’ll do something that can earn you coins. You’ll earn coins just for playing the game. If you want to play through a game extra quickly, set it to “Sim” mode and all you have to do is pick out the plays and watch the results
However, HOW you play the game will cause you to earn far more bonus coins. If you win the game, you get bonus coins. If you score a certain amount of points (20, 30, 40 etc), you’ll get bonus coins for that, as well. If you go for a high number of yards on a down, then you’ll score bonus coins. If you rack up a high number of yards total in the game, you’ll also get coins.
Sell cards in the auction area, too, and you can get more coins. If you can effectively arbitrage cards (sell them for more than you bought them for), or split up card packs into single cards, then you can sell them and make a profit. Also, connecting to Facebook will earn you 2,500 free coins.
Cash is the premium currency of the game. The only known way to get more cash is to buy it from in-app purchase store. You can spend as little as 1 2 dollars or as many as 99 dollars for a refill in cash. There’s no known way to get free cash yet.
If you gain an experience level, you’ll get a free energy refill. In addition, you and your friends can send energy back and forth as a gift if you connect to Facebook with the game. Otherwise, you can wait for energy to come back, or you can buy more energy using cash.
