Monkeynauts: Top Tips, Walkthrough, Cheats, and Strategy Guide

By | 20181011

Monkeynauts is a new idle game for the iOS and Android platforms by Hyperbeard Games where you start off with baby monkey astronauts, then you merge them together and evolve them into bigger, smarter, more lucrative monkey astronauts. Each one earns you coins just for existing, and the more you evolve, the more coins you earn, and the more of them that you unlock in the store. You can also earn gems, unlock new planets, and complete various missions and quests. Read on for some tips and tricks for Monkeynauts!

If you’re playing the game on an iPhone X, XS, XS Max, or XR, then you might notice that the current coin total is hidden behind the notch. The developers didn’t program around the notch when they added the money feature to the game. Until the developers move the money counter downward, your best bet to see your coin total is to swipe up slightly on the bottom app switcher bar, just enough that the screen zooms out a bit, then to swipe it back down and go back to the game.

Your main way of getting more monkeys is to tap to add incubators, or to wait for the incubators to pop up on their own, but you can also go to the store and buy more advanced monkeys as you get further into the game. For each new monkey that you unlock, another monkey is added to the store. Each monkey purchase adds to the price of rebuying the same monkey, so by the time you level up, you could even end up with a new unlocked money that costs less than your last one depending on how often you use the store.

Gems are the premium currency of the game. Tap on the gems counter and you can buy more of them using an in-app purchase, or you can earn free gems. To earn free gems, tap on the free gem button, and the offer wall from TapJoy will pop up. Complete any of the free offers to earn free gems. If the offer involves a credit card number being added, then be sure to cancel before you get charged.

There are two types of video offers in the game. One of them can double your earned coins for five minutes. The other offers lets you earn a chest in exchange for watching a video – a chest that can contain either a high number of coins, or even some free gems. That chest is available once per hour. The doubler chest is available up to three times in a row, with each one adding another five minutes to your time.

At the bottom right corner of the screen, you have a list of upgrades that you can buy by spending gems. These upgrades are all permanent, and consist of such things as making incubators appear faster, or of collecting more money when the game is closed.

About Evan Heisenberg

Evan Heisenberg named himself after a Breaking Bad character one time, and then got stuck with it. He’s a San Diego guy living in Tacoma, so he legitimately enjoys the cliche “long walks on the beach.” Aside from writing about mobile games, Evan is an aircraft hydraulic maintainer and maintenance instructor. He likes weightlifting, beer, dad jokes, the Padres and Chargers, and slightly-old luxury and exotic cars.
