Monster Squad – Tips, Tricks, Cheats, and Strategy Guide

Monster Squad is a new monster-collecting RPG for the iOS and Android platforms by Nexon M, the mobile division of the famous Maple Story developer. Your goal is to go through both single player and arena MMO battle stages, collecting coins and gems, while collecting nearly 500 monsters as you progress through the game. Read on for some tips and tricks for Monster Squad!

Pick the strongest monster on your team as your leader, no matter what their special moves are. At least one of the special moves will be an attack, and right from the tutorial you’ll get a rare, so stick the rare into your leader spot and they will be the one who gets the special moves. The sidekick monsters don’t get any special moves.

Monsters are leveled up by participating in single player battles in the quest mode. They can be leveled up to 30 times, so if you are stuck on a tough level, go back to a past one and grind for levels until you feel like you can beat it. In addition, each monster can be “boosted” up to five times, which increases their base stats.

Evolution can only be done when a monster hits level 30 with a +5 boost level, so when you hit the point of evolution you’ll have an extremely tough monster to begin with, but evolution will actually increase their rarity, as well as (obviously) send their level back down to 1. Once you evolve them, they will be able to level up fast an easy again, meaning that they will become very strong, very fast.

An easy way to get free gems is to get one of each monster up to level 30, which will earn you 5-15 gems every time. Otherwise, a good way to do so is to complete the quests in the mission list; most of them pay in gems, while many of them also pay in coins. Tap the “M” scroll to see what they all are. Go to the daily and weekly mission rewards for even more prizes as well.

Wait to fight in the arena until your team rating is at least C, and then when opponent ratings improve to B- after awhile, improve yours to somewhere around B or B+ before continuing the fight. Once you participate in an event, if you want the biggest prizes, then put your full time and effort into the arena mode as much as possible.
