Moon Surfing is a new exploring game for the iOS and Android platforms where your goal is to explore the moon. You, along with a number of other players, use a solar-powered surfboard to move from one moon base to the other, and your goal is to get as close as possible to the dark side of the moon, then explore the dark side and see what happens there. You can generally pick between multiple goals, some of which are shorter distances, and some of which are longer distance. The short-distance ones tend to be easier to get to, as you have to go between less flags in order to get there, and you’re at less of a risk of not completing your quests. So as a beginner, start off with the shorter distances.
Once you get some experience, though, start aiming for the longer-distance goals. As long as you hit the flags on your way, you will make it there easily. The flag slaloms will add 10 seconds to your time, so as long as you hit them when you see them, you’ll add enough time to make it to the longer-distance areas.
In addition to getting to the flag areas on time, you have to maintain your speed in order to get as far as you can go. Make sure to avoid hitting the jagged rocks, or you’ll end up getting knocked backwards. Stay on the flattest path possible, as flat paths make it easier to maintain your speed. You’ll need to go to hills occasionally, but stick to the minimum possible.
When you do have to go over the hills, oftentimes there will be a path to follow, so aim to stay on the path for the easiest journey. Take advantage of barrel rolls, as well. Swipe to the left or to the right to execute a barrel roll, which can slide your path a good distance without turning your surfboard, making it easier to stay on the path.
Hit the options menu to change some controls in order to make it easier. If you want to invert the controls, you can do that, so you can play upside-down if you want, although that’s not typically the easiest way to do things. You can also mute the music and the sound effects, or even reset your progress if you want to start exploring a different side of the moon than the one that you have already picked.
