Plants vs Zombies 2 is a game where your army of plants takes on an entire army of zombies. There are a ton of plants to unlock in the game, each of which costs a certain amount of sun, each of which has a different use, and each of which can help you through to the end of the game. Your first four plants are from the tutorial. Peashooters shoot peas straight ahead, and cost 100 sun. With plant food, they shoot out a flurry of peas in a straight line. Sunflowers give you more sun, and cost 50 sun. Plant food causes them to spit out 125 sun all at once. Wall-Nuts take a ton of damage and block zombies from getting to other plants. They cost 50 sun each. Plant food increases their shell strength.
Potato Mines arm 20 seconds after you plant them, and then explode when a zombie touches them, doing huge damage. Plant food causes it to arm immediately and to put two new Potato Mines on the board for free. It costs 25 sun.
Cabbage-Pult throws cabbages over obstacles to hit zombies. It costs 100 Sun. You can unlock it at level 2 of Ancient Egypt. Plant food causes it to launch high-strength cabbages at every single zombie on screen. This is one of the single most effective Plant Food attacks in the entire game. Bloomerang shoots boomerangs forward, which hit every target in a line, and then reverse direction and hit every target a second time. Plant food causes it to fire multiple boomerangs in 4 directions. It costs 100 Sun and is hidden behind a locked gate in Ancient Egypt.

Grave Busters can be planted directly on a grave, and will eat the grave. They are also hidden behind a locked gate in Egypt. Plant food cannot be used on them. They cost 0 Sun. Iceberg Lettuce costs 0 sun as well, and will freeze any zombie that steps on them. They disappear after one zombie. Plant food makes them freeze every zombie on the screen. They are unlocked in Egypt level 5.
Twin Sunflowers give double the sun of a standard Sunflower. They cost 125 Sun and are hidden behind a gate in Egypt. Plant food causes them to spit out 225 Sun. Bonk Choy punches any zombie in front of or behind it, doing very high damage. Plant food causes them to punch in all directions, twice as fast. They cost 150 sun and are unlocked in level 8 of Egypt.
