Prison Planet: Walkthrough, Tips, Cheats, and Strategy Guide

Prison Planet is a new iOS and Android game where you run a for-profit prison – a VERY controversial topic especially if you’re reading this article from the United States. Your goal here, as with any private prison, is to make as much money as possible by storing as many prisoners as you can and making sure your accommodations are good enough to get more and to keep your prisoners healthy.

You can build new cells, build food, water, and power sources, do all kinds of research, and figure out more ways to increase your money quickly. Read on for some tips and tricks for Prison Planet!

The most basic thing to do in this game is to increase the number of inmates that you have. You can take in new inmates at any time, and you have to section off a high enough percentage of the cells with a laser barrier in order to successfully lock up inmates. Hit them with the laser, and you’ll accidentally off them, but if you do, you will be able to watch an ad video in order to bring them back to life.

You’ll need to buy more lasers as you add more cells and more inmates, since you’ll need to place more of them in order to cordon off larger areas. However, you can easily use less lasers per area by upgrading your laser speed. You’ll very easily be able to get your lasers ahead of inmates even at close range when you add a lot of speed.

Tap on the green bar graph up at the top right corner of the main screen to see how you are doing with water, oxygen, and power. If you are good on those three, then the corresponding icons will be green. If you are low on any one of those three, then the icon colors will change.

Use this indicator to know when to build and what to build. Build power stations to increase the amount of power that you generate. Build water tanks to make more water. Build life support buildings in order to create more oxygen.

Most importantly, though, build research plants and always have some type of research going on. Research buildings allow you to do everything from earning more money for doing what you are already doing to building some entirely new types of buildings. You can also shorten research by watching ad videos in order to scrub off significant amounts of time.

As you unlock more prisoners, you’ll be able to earn more money per prisoner. If you have too many low-income prisoners in your prison, you will be able to parole them at will. Just tap on them and hit the parole option to buy them out of their sentence. Then you can clear out space for higher-dollar prisoners.

Be sure to build vaults in order to be able to store as much money as possible. Unlike power stations and water tanks, vaults do not have to be connected to the cells in order to earn money. So build vaults far out from your cells and fit them into small spaces where you can’t (or don’t want to) fit other buildings.
