At the beginning of the game it can be very confusing, and even as you get into it you’ll often find yourself looking for something to do. One thing to always do is to pay attention to the tips that the narrator gives you. Every time that you go to a submenu or to the map scree, and then return to the camp screen, she will come back with a brand new tip.

Another thing to do is to complete the quests. You have normal quests, daily quests, dungeon quests and colosseum quests. Normal quests are the ones that will lead you towards advancement in the game, but will earn you rewards as well. Daily quests and the other two will just earn you good rewards. Complete daily quests until you unlock dungeon quests and colosseum quests.

You have four resources in this game: wood, stone, food and ore. Upgrade your lumber yard, your farm, your quarry and your mine as quickly as you can in order to ensure a steady flow of supplies. Be sure to upgrade your storage so that you can actually handle all of those supplies, and all of the quest rewards, because if your storage falls behind, you’ll stop being able to earn resources.

Try to get new guild members as quickly as you can, and then assign troops to them via the various camps. If you want to get experience for your new characters, look around the map for an abandoned camp. You’ll know which ones are abandoned because they will still be producing resources yet they will have no defenses whatsoever.

In addition to building, have research going on as often as possible. The faster you complete research, the more different types of mercenaries you can hire, and the more technologies you’ll unlock.
