Sid Meier’s Ace Patrol Tips and Tricks Guide: Hints, Cheats and Strategies

Sid Meier’s Ace Patrol just came out and already it stands out among a sea of clones in the iOS world. Sid Meier’s Ace Patrol is a strategy game, almost like a board game on the iPhone and iPad, which puts you in control of a British flying squadron during World War 1. You fight in various missions as a part of such offensives as the Somme Offensive and the Arras Offensive, and each battle you win gets you closer to victory. Read on for some tips and tricks for Sid Meier’s Ace Patrol!

Playing Sid Meier’s Ace Patrol in rookie mode is so easy that it isn’t even worth writing down any tips about it, but once you get into Pilot, Ace, Leader or Legend mode it gets much tougher, so keep the following strategies in mind. First of all, don’t approach the enemy aircraft head on. Roll and approach from the side, and try to get them to chase one of your pilots. Then chase them with the other pilot to line them up for easy shots.

Stay out of the red territories, as these are the enemy territories. If you fly into enemy territory their anti-aircraft guns will aim at you and kill you extremely quickly. Instead, get the enemy pilots to chase you and follow you into the blue territory, which is your own territory.

Depending on the difficulty level, the German planes may or may not follow you into the blue. If they do, draw them toward your side’s anti aircraft artillery and watch the enemy planes get blown away. If not, they will turn around. When they turn, chase them back out and get behind them, and you will have loads of easy shots!

The territories surrounded in white are covered by clouds. Fly into the clouds and the enemies won’t be able to shoot you because they can’t see you. Slow way down and stay in the clouds as long as possible, and try to set up shots against enemy planes. These strategic methods take longer to win with, but you will win VERY hard battles by using them.
