Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is the sequel to Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing. It’s available for iOS, Android, and as a downloadable game for Steam and for consoles. Your goal is to race through a nearly endless number of stages using Sonic, Tails, Amy Rose and a huge variety of characters from other, somewhat obscure Sega games from the Dreamcast and Saturn days (mostly). At the beginning of the game, there will be a popup asking for your Apple ID password, at least on the iOS version of the game. All that is, is a glitch that attempts to restore your previous purchases in the game, whether you had any or not. Enter your password once and it will go away forever, and it won’t charge you any money.
Also at the beginning of each stage, you have the chance to spend rings and stars on spins which will earn you boosts when you begin the race. Don’t bother purchasing any of these, as there are a ton of things to spend rings on – namely, more characters and more races. Plus, you’ll load up on boosts by hitting the question blocks, so this is merely a waste of rings.
Change the controls inside of the options menu. You start with touch controls, but drifting is much easier to control when you use tilt controls, because it’s easier to steer mid-drift. Plus, you can change the flight assist and drift assist to make it easier (or tougher, if you like a challenge) to finish specific courses.
Drifting is one of the best ways to earn boosts. The longer you keep a drift going, the more of a speed boost you get, which is why having tilt controls is a huge aid. Once you get to drift level three, which is the maximum boost level, let go of the drifting button to go shooting ahead of your rivals.
