Stack AR – Tips and Tricks Guide: Hints, Cheats, and Strategies

Augmented Reality has just debuted on the iPhone and iPad via iOS 11, and one of the unlikely pioneers of AR is Ketchapp, with its new Stack AR game. Stack AR is an augmented reality spin on the old Stack game, allowing you to stack blocks on any surface that your camera can find. Like with the previous Stack game, your goal is to get the highest score possible, unlock new stacking combinations, and compete against players all over the world. Read on for some tips and tricks for Stack AR!

Many of the reviews that you find in iTunes are folks who can’t figure out how to get the AR working, so they assume that it doesn’t work. If this is you, know that you can absolutely play in the AR mode. First, download iOS 11 if you don’t have it yet. Then, go to the game and on the main menu, on the bottom bar, find the AR button and tap it. Allow the game to access your camera and that’s it – AR mode is active.

Once in that mode, you’ll be able to play the same as before, but you’ll be able to move your phone around to deal with the surface that your tower is on. You might be far away to begin with, but you can physically stand up and move closer to your tower in order to get a better vantage point. You can walk around your tower to change the angles that the blocks come from, and even stand right above your tower.

Once your round is done, the entire tower will be visible, rather than just the top 15 layers or so of it like in the game itself. When your whole tower is visible, then you’ll be able to walk around and look at your tower from all angles, without having to worry about moving and playing at the same time, or getting distracted.

Like in the original Stack, you will be able to unlock new patterns for your towers by paying 200 diamonds apiece. Some of them can be had for free, though; for example, one of them will unlock instantly once you hit the link to the Facebook page for the game. All that you have to do is follow the link; you don’t actually have to follow through with the like on it.

If you want to earn more gems to buy more patterns, the quick and easy way to do that is to go to the pattern select screen and hit the bottom left button, which will play a video in exchange for twenty gems. You can watch as many videos as you want; once you have 200, you can go and buy another pattern. So you can either hone in on a pattern that you want to try and then play again, or watch videos over and over to try to get all of the patterns.
