Tap! Dig! My Museum! Walkthrough, Cheats, Tricks, and Strategy Guide (UPDATED)

Tap! Dig! My Museum! is a retro-style iPhone and Android game where you run a museum and earn coins. Your goal is to dig around for dinosaur fossils to fill out exhibit stands, attract all kinds of visitors, and earn coins from them so that you can dig even more.

You start off with a really small museum, but you can dig for fossils, piece together attractions, add new exhibits, and even increase the size of your museum so that you can make room for more dinosaur exhibits, including larger, more lucrative, silver- and gold-tier fossils.

Digging for fossils to fill up your exhibits

You start off with only one little measly fossil, which you can upgrade right away because the game starts you off with enough coins to go on several digs, but you don’t just buy an instant upgrade using coins like you do in other idle tap games.

Instead, you pay coins to start a dig. You’ll have a game board spaced out on a hex grid, And you can choose a limited number of spaces to dig per run so that you can find fossils. If you piece together an entire bone or artifact, you’ll then be able to add it to your display, increasing its earning potential.

Once you complete an exhibit, you’ll open up a new dig location, which you can then begin excavating by opening up a new exhibit in your museum, then hitting the “dig” button. Each dig becomes more and more expensive, and each digging map is larger, then eventually deeper, making it tougher to find fossils.

Upgrading your digs and your museum

You’ll be able to upgrade your digging once you earn enough coins to do so, as well as upgrade your museum in general. The first upgrade attracts more visitors to your museum, which, of course, allows you to earn more coins overall.

The second upgrade gives you more turns per dig, so that you have a better chance of finding fossils. The third upgrade increases not only the strength of each turn, allowing you to dig deeper, but allows you to dig into adjacent fossils as well, and with each upgrade, you can dig out more dirt.

Later on in the game, a fourth upgrade will appear. This allows a Roomba-like robot to pick up the museum’s coins automatically while you’re doing something else, so that you don’t have to keep going back to the museum floor and swiping the coins.

Right now, the coin robot doesn’t travel to any additional rooms in your museum at all; it just roams around the initial exhibit room. So let your robot take care of all of your collections i nthe main area, especially when it reaches its maximum level, but collect from the additional rooms by yourself until the robot is given the ability to go to new rooms.

Coins and how to use them effectively

Once you run out of coins, all you have to do is go to the main museum area and watch as your visitors drop coins at your attractions. What do you have enough coins for another dig, start it up again.

Once you get enough coins to unlock a new attraction, you will be able to pick whether you want to place an existing fossil or a new one. Place a familiar one if you want to, depending on if you have one you really like that strikes the perfect balance between high income and cheap digging. Or, you can tap on the new fossils to get a different type of challenge.

At any time, you can choose to put away a fossil, or you can sell it. The more complete a fossil is, the more you can sell it for. If you do choose to sell it, you instantly get an influx of money, which you can then use to start digging again, or if you put it away, you can put it up in the same state of completion on another exhibit stand later on.

As you keep digging and digging for a specific display, eventually you’re going to achieve 100% completion. Even if you do, though, you can still keep digging and digging for that specific attraction. As you find more fossils you’ll actually raise the bar above 100%, increasing the earning power to a new level.

A “+4” or other “+” number will appear next to the complete fossil depending on how many duplicate fossils you have. It’s even possible to get to +100 or higher; you can dig an unlimited number of times. The biggest benefit here comes when you sell an exhibit. Going above and beyond can SIGNIFICANTLY increase the sale price.

How to get “offline income”, sort of

There is strangely no form of offline income in this game. If you don’t have much cash and you need to charge your phone, leave the game active so that visitors will keep throwing coins. Every once in a while, go back to your phone and swipe over all of the coins in order to collect them.

Coins max out after about 10 minutes of the game left idle. However, if you unlock the fourth upgrade, the “Roomba” for coins, you can leave your phone idle for as long as you want, and as long as the game is active, you’ll earn coins indefinitely.

So to get “offline income”, plug your phone in and charge it overnight with the game active. After you come back, the coin robot will have collected a huge amount of coins, allowing you to buy a ton of upgrades, exhibits, and more.

Power-Ups

You can get an instant 50 visitors by using a bus ticket. If you use a Stamina Drink, you’ll get 10 more excavations in a single dig. If you use a Fuel, you’ll be able to dig up a huge area. If you use. Fossil Detector, you will be able to detect fossils with a radar during your next dig.

Mainly, you can get power-ups from the starter packs and other packs, but you can also earn them for free by tapping on the spin game icon in the bottom left corner of the screen. An ad video will play, and when it finishes, you will earn either coins, or one of the power-ups.

Sometimes, you will get an ad video offer that does the same thing as the bus ticket, and causes 50 visitors to appear out of nowhere. This will also appear in the bottom left corner of your screen, so keep an eye out and tap it whenever you see it, so that you can load up on the coins.
